Coaches’ Corner
The Xtreme 12’s competed in their first big tournament of the season. 12 Kaepa competed and conquered their competition with “Xtreme Kaepability” to bring home the CHAMPIONSHIP of the 2011 Tornado Warm Up Tournament. The girls played consistent for two days but really came together as a team winning a tough match semi final 3rd set with a score of 18-16 to go on to win the championship match in just 2 sets. Coach Mona is VERY proud of all of the 12 Kaepa team and their outstanding teamwork.
12 Purple also had a super tournament making it to the GOLD Bracket and winning the first round of that bracket. Then they had to face none other than ……. You guessed it ………… Xtreme 12 Kaepa. The girls played a “well fought” match but lost and went on to take 6th overall in the tournament! Congratulations to 12 Purple on being in the GOLD bracket and a great tournament.
12 White also competed in the tournament. The team had it’s ups and downs for two days – but had many many shining moments to grow on as individuals, and as a team. The team is learning together – and will grow and get better each time they step on the court. This will be a team to watch out for J
A Note from Owner and Club Director, Ray Gonzales:
Xtreme Volleyball Athletes, WELCOME to the 2011 – 2012 club season! From here on out it is up to each of you to decide how far you want to go and how far you are willing to go. Your abilities will get you started but if you don’t have the attitude and the desire to be better and to know more, you will inevitably be stuck in the same place. As your club director, and with the help of my age directors and coaches, I will try to provide each of you with ample opportunities to develop into stronger, smarter, more focused athletes, students, and young ladies. We want success for each one of you and will give you our best.
Remember, it is your responsibility to earn a position on the court. You will do thisby being your best every single day. Your best is based on skills, attitude, heart, and potential on and off the court; in practice, in conditioning, and in goal classes. Hopefully all of you will be able to look back on this season and realize that not only did you have fun, but you also became better problem solvers, more self-disciplined, more dedicated, more goal oriented, and last but not least more prepared for life.
There will always be someone bigger, someone faster, someone that jumps higher, but over the years hard work will always win over talent that won’t work.
Do you understand what it takes to achieve your personal best?
Are you willing to discipline yourself enough to do it?
We challenge each one of you to answer yes to both.
Begin today to become your best.

From Coach Mona...
The 12U group started their pre season practices on September 12th and are “looking good” :-) The girls came out ready to work and it showed in their happy, sweaty faces as they left the gym after their first week of training! We have a great group of talented girls!
They say you are happy if you love what you do... well... I am not “just” happy... I am “XTREMELY” happy – and really enjoy working with this wonderful group of girls.
